I simply have to share that I have the perfect brownie recipe – tried, tested and incredibly delicious. This recipe makes deliciously hearty brownies, but we've mastered the art of savouring each bite by cutting them into petite squares, which are wonderful served with a cup of aromatic espresso. Amidst the hustle and bustle – children playing or a storm brewing outside – the world comes to a standstill, focusing on that moment of bliss. It's a tranquil space filled with comfort, where everything seems to fall into place.
Ingredients
- 150 g flour
- ½ tsp salt
- 225 g butter
- 170 g semi-sweet chocolate (70–80% cocoa)
- 180 g sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (or vanilla sugar)
- 4 large eggs
- 120 g chopped walnuts
Method
- 1Preheat the oven to 170°C. Grease and line a square tin.
- 2Melt the butter with the chocolate over a low heat, add half the sugar, then the vanilla.
- 3Blend the remaining sugar with the eggs and fold into the chocolate mix.
- 4Then fold in the flour, salt and walnuts.
- 5Bake for 30 minutes – or slightly less for gooey brownies.
